There were two Enoch's...and two very different "translations"

I couldn't sleep tonight and I decided to read my Bible, starting with the book of Genesis.  As I read the list of who begat whom, I had to suddenly turn back the page and re-read the lineage of Cain.

Enoch ben Cain
Irad ben Cain
Mehujael ben Cain
Methushael ben Cain
Lamech ben Cain (second man mentioned to murder and he also had two wives)

The reason I went back to re-read is I at first got confused about the name Methushael , and for a moment thought it was the same as Methuselah, who was in the lineage of Adam.

 Adam----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+(930) Adam
2. Seth (130)----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+(1042) Seth
3. Enos (235)-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------B
4. Cainan (325)----------------------------------------------------------------------
5. Mahalaleel (395)---------------------------------------------------------
6. Jared (460)------------------------------------------------------
7. Enoch (622)---------------------------------+(987) Was Translated
8. +Methuselah (687)----------------------------------
9. +Lamech (874)------------------
10. +Noah

I originally was reading the scripture, because I was thinking of Forgivness.  There has been a lot of talk about forgiveness due to the scandalous Dugger situation and other events that I am not at liberty to talk about at this time.

I am actually not going to speak on the Duggar's, however.  This is about something else entirely different that I had never, ever known before.  Of course this is why the Bible is called the living Bible, because God reveals hidden gems at different times.

I have read, and re-read that passage, without a blink of an eye, other to imagine how amazing it must have been to be "translated"

 God Takes Up Enoch
22Then Enoch walked with God three hundred years after he became the father of Methuselah, and he had other sons and daughters. 23So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. 24Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.

Hebrews 11:5 - By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

 (trăns′lāt′, trănz′-, trăns-lāt′, trănz-)

b. To express in another medium: translated the short story into a movie.
4. To transfer from one place or condition to another: "His remains were translated to San Juan de Puerto Rico where they still rest" (Samuel Eliot Morison).
5. To forward or retransmit (a telegraphic message).
a. Ecclesiastical To transfer (a bishop) to another see.
b. To convey to heaven without death.

8. Biology To subject (messenger RNA) to translation.

Many years ago, I came across the Book of Enoch, and was very torn about it's being a fake scripture or not.  I know of the verse in  Jude :14

1Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about them: “See, the Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of his holy ones 15 to judge everyone, and to convict all of them of all the ungodly acts they have committed in their ungodliness, and of all the defiant words ungodly sinners have spoken against him.”[e] 16 These people are grumblers and faultfinders; they follow their own evil desires; they boast about themselves and flatter others for their own advantage.

However, just because a prophesy was mentioned in the Bible, did that really mean he wrote and entire book?

I actually sat down and read parts of it, and it was all about the Watcher's who were NephilimThere were parts that seemed like it could've been true, but that was only because I had read stories like Noah.

Being that it was not included in the Bible, I simply dismissed it, for years...until tonight, which is now morning.

Let's go back to the first Enoch.  Cain's son.  Cain had a son and there is nothing else mentioned about him except that he built the first city and named it after him.  That city was destroyed by the flood.  We also have two Lamech's, one who was father to Noah, and one who was a descendent of Cain, who was a polygamist and murderer.

How many know where I am going with this?  Bear with me, because it's all just revealed to me.

So I went and looked up who actually reads, today, the book of Enoch.  LDS church does.

In fact, they have changed the quote of Enoch being translated to God, to the whole city being "translated up to God"

They even  go so far as to  say that Zion is the name of a physical city founded by the prophet Enoch, also known as the City of Enoch;    Latter Day Saints

Hmm, something is getting changed in the translation.  They are combining the two Enochs as one person and claiming that they people of that city were a holy people, pure in heart.

In reality we see, by recognizing that there are in fact TWO separate Enochs, that the one that had the city built after him, was of an evil lineage.

Now, let me go one step even further, because my brain did a double take as I suddenly heard the verse from Matthew 24:38
For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

This verse is the one most often quoted when speaking of the "rapture" of the church and not knowing when it would take place.

Haha, as a side note, I have the Foodnetwork on and they are talking about baking soda just of course I was about to type,

A little leaven, leavens the whole lump.

What I mean a little lie, mixed with truth, makes it all a lie.

The Mormons believe: Geographical uses of the name "Zion" are associated with references in the Book of Moses in the Pearl of Great Price, where Enoch the son of Jared founds a city for the righteous descendants of Adam.[13] This city became so righteous and pure that it was translated (taken)[14] from the presence of the earth[15] and brought into the presence of God, leaving behind on earth only Methuselah and his family (including Noah) to repopulate the earth with righteous people. Latter Day Saints believe that, at the Second Coming, Zion the City of Enoch will return to the earth from heaven.

However the truth of the matter is that Enoch, the one the city was named for,  was the son of Cain:

Genesis 4:17
And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.

It's all in the translation.
